Mountains In The Study of The Qur'an

Abstract

Most of the mentions of mountains in the Koran are about their creation, about the story with the Prophet Musa 'alaihissalam (mount Sinai) and also about the Day of Judgment (the mountain will be destroyed). That's why it is very interesting when we discuss verses from the Koran about mountains. The method of this article uses library research, namely a method of collecting data by understanding and studying theories from various literature related to research. According to Zed, there are four stages of library study, namely preparing the necessary equipment, preparing a working bibliography, organizing time and reading and recording research material. Collecting data by searching for sources and constructing them from various sources such as books, journals and existing research. According to Fakruddi>n al-Ra<zi> the essence of walking mountains is a very powerful natural essence, which humans will witness tomorrow on the Day of Judgment. People think that the mountain is still, but in fact it moves as the clouds move. However, because the shape of the mountain is so big, it looks like it is standing still even though it is actually walking. The process of moving the mountain is caused by a very powerful shaking so that the mountain floats like fleece blown by the wind.
