This research is motivated by the phenomenon of low student interest and motivation in Islamic Cultural History (SKI) subjects in class XI.1 at MA Al-Khoeriyah. The primary issue identified is student boredom with the delivery of historical material that is often chronological and theoretical, leading to low information retention. This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of the word search game method as an innovative solution to dynamize learning, specifically regarding the history of Caliph Ali bin Abi Thalib.
The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques including participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The findings indicate that the use of word search-based visual media effectively addresses student literacy barriers and serves as a practical solution amidst limited projector facilities. Through this method, students became more active in identifying historical keywords both independently and collaboratively.
The conclusion of this study confirms that the word search method is effective in increasing student engagement and creating a conducive and enjoyable learning atmosphere within the madrasah environment. As a practical implication, it is recommended that educators continuously regenerate digital and interactive learning media to support a more flexible curriculum that is adaptive to technological developments.
