Abstract

Career anxiety among vocational high school students, who should possess skills relevant to career planning, often arises due to a lack of understanding of their potential and career choices. This study aims to encourage students to understand their potential, recognize their strengths and weaknesses, regulate their thoughts about future careers, and identify factors that can support them in achieving their careers. This study uses a one-group pretest-posttest design with a quantitative approach, through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis. The pre-test results from 8 subjects showed a total score of 624 (65%). After the intervention, the post-test score decreased to 495 (52%). The score reduction of 129 points (13%) included all indicators: physical reactions 15%, cognitive reactions 16%, behavioral reactions 11%, and mood 4%. Based on the pre-test and post-test graphs conducted on 8 students from the XI grade of the Agricultural Product Quality Control (PMHP) department, it can be concluded that group counseling using the Trait and Factor Approach can reduce career anxiety among XI grade students at SMKN 1 Leuwiliang.
